That's Craig Kerr's tombstone. One of his things was he'd say "I hate [whatever]" in a deadpan voice. I thought if he was dead, his tombstone would read "I hate being dead."

The "Bill" here is Bill Ashe. Bill, like Craig, was one of my college roommates. Pretty much everyone mentioned in the comic strip during the (tssf...) run was either a roommate or someone I wanted to date but never did.
