Ah! A new set of backgrounds -- the kitchen!

Now here's something strange about Dex: his shirt. He uses the holographic ray to make him look human, but it's always the shirt with the collar with those strange markings on it. Originally, Dex looked like a cyclopsean creature, dressed in battle armor or a uniform or something. The hologram ray there just copied the markings on Dex's real shirt onto his human shirt. So now that Dex is really an alien that looks like a brain in a jar, what purpose do the markings serve?
