Ah, it's everything that makes the comic strip great. Porn and ripoffs (er, "homages") of the Clerks cartoon.

Not only did Randal show up from Clerks, but the cartoon also inspired a new thing to do with character's hands when they're standing around blathering to each other. Look! Moriarty is crossing his arms! Wow! Neat!

I think Randal's dialogue sounds like actual Randal dialogue.
