And here we are at a new layout.

There are several reasons why I've decided to go back to the standard newspaper layout for PE(aott), but the most important one I keep coming back to is now I'm actually drawing a strip instead of assembling one in a computer. Back when I drew (the story so far...), I drew the strip. Nowadays I (and other cartoonists) seem to be relying on the computer as a crutch rather than a tool. I didn't draw a comic strip any more -- I drew the same top halves of the characters day after day. Why not just save myself the trouble and just draw them once so I can cut and paste forever?

The day I drew this and Wednesday's comic, I felt accomplished. I'm back to being a cartoonist instead of an assemblyman. It feels good. It feels... honest.
