Just before this exchange is the funniest visual gag in the series. A generation of viewers that have only watched the pan and scan version or the television broadcasts never saw it. There's an establishing shot of the Imperial Star Destroyers in the asteroid field and one large rock goes slamming into the bridge tower of one of the ISDs in the foreground. Cut to Vader talking to three of his admirals. The one on the far left looks up to his left and screams as his image flickers out.

But I've always liked this bit. "Nobody leaves the asteroid field, got it? I'll be right back."
