commentary

In December of 2001, I entered a contest for the Sam Adams Brewery. It was called something like the "brew your own beer commercial", partnered with HBO's Project Greenlight. The contest was simple: write a concept for a beer commercial. The other contestants would critique your work, you critique at least six others. If your written critiques were good and the critiques for your commercial indicated it was a good concept, you go onto the Top 25 round, then to the Top 10 round, then to the Top 3, then the winner was chosen.

I don't mind saying so, but I had a damn good commercial concept. In fact, it was probably the best concept for a beer commercial ever. (Maybe the current Miller Lite beer ad wherein two fantastically hot women rip each other's clothes off in an outdoor fountain is better. Maybe.)

My concept didn't get past the first round.

Fixed
So for the longest time, the website has been broken and it's always been at the back of my mind to fix it one day and lo! behold! the magic fix just took about twenty minutes to hunt down and correct. So, sorry about that.

Have fun flipping through the comic strip and marvelling at how rough my artwork was so very very long ago.
