commentary

There's over forty assembled heroes (well, "heroes") here in panel one. I know who about half of them are. For instance: the floating guy is the Dali Lama, the Grey Wraith is present on the floor, Ninja Kenny is to the Wraiths' left, and that's the Reverend Johnny Lightning up on the platform in the lower right corner.

Major Hawk is my world's version of Superman. The semester before (tssf...) was published, I submitted a Major Hawk adventure comic strip for the Texas A&M Battalion. They wound up not accepting that, and I went off to create the strip that became the precursor of PE(aott). However, everything in PE(aott) is all due to Major Hawk. In fact, it's time for a tale I like to call

The Secret Origin of Major Hawk

Everyone knows the Major's origin -- the only survivor of an alien race, marooned on Earth. Now here, under the yellow sun, he finds that he's stronger, faster, tougher than any other being. He's the champion of his adopted planet and fights for truth, justice, and fair play!

Except that's all a lie. He's really a thirteen-year-old boy that played a superhero role playing game. His character, Major Hawk, was pretty much a knock-off of Superman. But he loved that game. So when the boy helped the citizens of Faerie, the Fey King granted him one wish. So the boy wished that he could become Major Hawk. And boom -- everything in the Major Hawk game world became real. The aliens that invaded his home planet, the other heroes, the villains -- everything became real and tied into our world. And nobody knew that it was any other way. That was seven years ago.

This means Dextrose exists because this boy wished his entire race into existence.

Fixed
So for the longest time, the website has been broken and it's always been at the back of my mind to fix it one day and lo! behold! the magic fix just took about twenty minutes to hunt down and correct. So, sorry about that.

Have fun flipping through the comic strip and marvelling at how rough my artwork was so very very long ago.
